Belize Qualified Retirement Program

The Belize Qualified Retirement Program (QRP) has proven to be attractive to retirees, expatriates and other persons looking to relocate to Belize.

And it’s  about to get better …

Managing Partner Ryan Wrobel and Qualified Retirement Program specialist Giselle Torres recently met with a Belize Tourism Board representative to discuss the program, which provides incentives to people looking to relocate to Belize. View the video above to learn more.

Overview

The Belize QRP is managed by the Belize Tourism Board and provides for a multitude of incentives for applicants that satisfy the program’s requirements.

The QRP is renowned as the most efficient path to foreign residency anywhere in the Americas and one of the primary reasons Belize is known as one of the best places to retire in the Caribbean and, indeed, one of the best place to retire in the world. Once the application process is completed, the program grants the applicant the equivalent of a green card as well as a wide array of other incentives. The benefits include a permanent exemption from all taxes in Belize (estate taxes, income taxes, capital gains taxes, and most import taxes). And while the Belize QRP visa offers full-time residency, new residents can enjoy all the QRP benefits even by spending as little as a month a year in the country. (Although you’ll probably want to stay much longer than that.)

The requirements to successfully enter the Belize Qualified Retirement Program are remarkably simple when compared to residency programs elsewhere in the world.

Simple, yes, but only by retaining a Belize retirement attorney can you ensure the smoothest process possible. All our former clients here at Wrobel & Co. have achieved QRP status after being advised by our Belize lawyers before, during and after the application process. Our Belize retirement lawyers provide the additional details, tips and guidance which ensure that our QRP clients’ goal and expectations from the Program are achieved.

If you need a Belize retirement lawyer, we can walk you through the various steps of the QRP application process and be at your side every step of the way. To learn more, contact us today.

Once approved, all retirees are requested to open a local bank account and deposit their monthly pensions funds. The Belize Tourism Board will request bank statements on a yearly basis to show proof of income and compliance with the retirement program.
  7. Medical Examination plus AIDS test for each member of the family.
