We are hiring for a Legal Assistant to support the firm’s operations. The ideal candidate will be a hard-working professional able to undertake a variety of support tasks and work diligently under pressure.
Primary Responsibilities
Summary of key functions:
- Conduct initial review of offers/contracts to determine timeline and special conditions, and forward to an Attorney.
- Draft all documents such as the closing statements, transfer instruments, deeds, central bank approval requests, and related closing documents.
- Order items such as company seals, company documents, central bank approval, tax statements, surveys, etc.
- Order title searches, Conduct General Registry Searches
- Work with the Real Property Team to ensure all closings are on track and all items are in order.
- Prepare/complete closing packets for review.
- Assist management in any other related tasks assigned.
- Attend Lands Registry in Belmopan to complete Land Transfers and other recordings.
Qualifications
- Multi-year experience with real estate closings in Belize
- Computer literacy
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Exceptional writing and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask in high-pressure situations
- Deadline-oriented
- Energetic and self-driven
- Ability to work in independent and collaborative settings
- Calm demeanor in dealing with clients
